Dr. Vijay Balakrishnan is a board-certified dermatologist with expertise in the diagnosis of skin, hair and nail conditions. Originally from Atlanta, GA, Dr. Balakrishnan graduated from Emory University on a full-ride merit-based scholarship with a double major in Biology and Music Performance. He received his Doctorate of Medicine at Emory University and proceeded to complete his dermatology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was also selected to serve as Chief Resident in his final year. After completing residency, he moved to San Diego where he has been practicing all aspects of general dermatology. Currently, Dr. Balakrishnan practices as a locum tenens dermatologist. Outside of work, he enjoys beach volleyball, pickleball, hiking, and spending time with Biscuit, his Golden Retriever.
