Dr. Victoria Barrio

Dr. Victoria Barrio is a board certified dermatologist with a special interest in Pediatric Dermatology. She grew up in both Mexico and Texas, and attended the Colegio Americano de Torreon for highschool, where she was Valedictorian. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rice University, and her Medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the University of Washington and the Seattle Children's Hospital. After receiving her board certification in Pediatrics she practiced as a pediatrician in the state of Washington for a year. She then completed her residency in Dermatology at the University of Louisville, and her fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She is board certified in both Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology. Before coming to San Diego Family Dermatology, Dr. Barrio was a faculty member at UCSD and Rady Children's Hospital for 18 years. While there she was awarded the UCSD Dermatology Goltz Excellence in Teaching award, and was the director of education for Pediatric Dermatology for several years. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. Her interests outside of dermatology are watching her children play sports, swimming, and trying to get better at cooking. She is fluent in Spanish.
